Project Requirements

The Elizabeth GP Plus is a $23 million new construction project which is part of the Federal Government Health Scheme. Originally the project specified traditional printed operations and maintenance manuals to be supplied at the end of the construction phase. Built Environs, the prime contractor, consulted with the client and an agreement was reached to engage Grazer to provide digital O&M knowledge management services for the project, as the Grazer solution provided many benefits throughout the construction phase and would deliver a superior O&M Knowledge Management solution at practical completion.

Grazer’s Solution

Grazer designed and established a C Projects site, a web based O&M knowledge collation service, to meet the requirements of the GP Plus project which included the loading of the project specification, training the consultants and all construction parties on the use of the web based service.

Project Outcomes

The project is yet to reach practical completion but already nearly all O&M knowledge has been collated from the sub contractors. The consulting engineers and Built Environs have been monitoring the progress of the data collection and have been progressively checking and approving the submitted documentation via the online service.

All parties involved in the project have reported that the service has been easy to use and has resulted in less time and effort to deliver the O&M deliverables than the traditional printed manuals.

Once practical completion is achieved and all O&M data has been approved by the Consultants, Grazer will extract the information and process it through C Rapid service, which in turn will produce a fully configured O&M knowledge set for the new property, which when loaded into the C Suite it will be possible to view all plans and drawings with all the installed assets highlighted with active links to all related O&M knowledge. Incorporated in the system is an Asset Maintenance suite for scheduling routine maintenance and servicing.

The project is scheduled to reach completion within the coming months and full delivery of the project O&M knowledge is expected to be delivered without hassles or delays.
